Adolescent
Counseling
"Adolescence is the conjugator of childhood and adulthood." Louise J. Kaplan
Between the ages of 13-17 children are fostering their independence as individuals. They want to grow into a possible adult self, which can sometimes cause tension at home, or within the child. In light of developmental changes, and the numerous pressures on young people, hence the need for counseling aimed towards adolescents.
My approach is to foster a safe space for the child, to express themselves without fear of repercussion. By creating a space, this may lead the adolescent to feel less scared about moving into a new role of adulthood.
